Jade Plant
The jade plant is often associated with good luck and friendship. That's why it is also known as the fortune plant, lucky plant, dollar plant, friendship tree, or money tree.
It is a low maintenance plant with a very long lifespan of up to 70 years with the proper care. This plant is slow-growing—gaining only about two inches of height per year, but it can reach a total height between three and six feet over time.
Place in a bright window that receives indirect light; a south-facing or west-facing window works well.
Water the plant frequently during the spring and summer (growing season) to keep the soil moist—but never soggy. In the winter, reduce watering to about once per month when its usually dormant.
Use a 20-20-20 fertilizer during the growing season to promote robust growth.
Be careful when watering. Succulents are easily overwatered, and it can be the death of them. Because succulents store water in their fleshy leaves and stems, they do not require as much irrigation as other houseplants. Keeping the soil too wet can lead to root rot.
