I’ll be honest with you—I was in tears during our very first Plant Crawl. Somewhere between the bus rides, the laughter, and the joy of discovering new plants, I looked around and realized just how much community has grown from this little seed of an idea called Pink Pothos. In that moment, I felt both overwhelmed and grateful: the family I once lacked was right in front of me, thriving in the form of friends, customers, and fellow plant lovers.
The truth is, many of us start businesses because we’re searching for something we didn’t have. For me, that was family. I don’t have a great relationship with my own, and for years that left an empty space in my life. But through Pink Pothos, I’ve been able to fill that void with connection, support, and love. The people who walk through our doors, join our workshops, and show up for events like the Plant Crawl have become the community I never knew I needed—and now can’t imagine living without.
That’s what made the Crawl so special. It wasn’t just about hopping from one plant shop to another. It was about honoring the diversity of Atlanta’s plant businesses, each with their own style and story, while building bridges across our city. Seeing our group cheer each other on, swap plant tips, and leave with arms full of greenery reminded me that this isn’t just my story—it’s our story. We’re proving that plant people aren’t in competition, but in collaboration, creating something stronger together than we ever could alone.
The Plant Crawl was only the beginning, but it reaffirmed why I do this work. Pink Pothos is more than a shop—it’s a home, a family, and a growing movement rooted in belonging. I can’t wait to see where the next Crawl (and the next season of growth) takes us.
