The truth about year three

Running a micro business is beautiful and brutally honest. The margins are thin, the learning is constant, and the wins are often quiet. People say the first five years are the toughest. Hitting year three and still standing—still growing—keeps me going. It reminds me that steady roots beat quick blooms every time.

Remembering October 26 & 27, 2024

My grand reopening at Pittsburgh Yards felt like a deep breath after a long hold. Friends I met through business, new customers from the plant community, and neighbors who didn’t know me yet all showed up—arms full of hugs, words of encouragement, and patience as we figured it out together. I moved to Atlanta not knowing anyone. I started my entrepreneur journey knowing that I would be starting from scratch. Grand reopening weekend, I realized I wasn’t building just a shop; I was building a home.

What community made possible

In the past year, I’ve watched strangers become regulars, and regulars become friends. We’ve repotted tricky plants, traded cuttings, swapped stories, and held space for each other. The support I’ve received—from fellow small business owners to the ATL plant family—filled a part of me I didn’t realize was still searching. “Grateful” is too small a word for what my heart feels.

I came here not knowing anyone. Today, I’m rooted—because of you.

Wouldn’t change a thing

This year brought new workshops, pop-ups, and plenty of lessons. Not every day was easy, but every day taught me something worth keeping. I wouldn’t change a thing. Pink Pothos is proof that when we lead with care and consistency, community blooms back tenfold.
